£6,000 Cash and £60,000 Valuables Rating - Eurograde 0
The Eurograde 0 range is the starting level of eurograde safes to choose from. It has an insurance rating of £6,000 for cash and £60,000 for valuables. (The valuables rating is always 10 times the value of the cash rating).
We highly recommend to slightly over calculate what you are planning to store within the safe whether that be cash or valuables. This is so that if you plan to purchase additional valuables in the future then your insurance rating of the safe will cover the total amount.
Your insurance company might also recommend a minimum insurance rating when buying a safe. Many Eurograde safes all come with fire protection included.
What is EN 1143-1?
EN1143-1 is a European security standard for security safes and cabinets. Rigorous tests are undertaken so that it meets the standards of EN1143-1. Insurance companies require the fixing of a Eurograde safe to be the anchored into a concrete floor or solid wall.
Dimensions of your Eurograde 0 Safe
The size of a safe is very important when about to make a purchase, as you need to consider the space that it is going to be placed in along with the internal dimensions and volume you require. Each model series will offer various sizes which differ in height, width and depth.
*Please Note* When measuring the depth, please ensure that you take into consideration the size of the external hinges, handles and lock size.*
What type of lock to choose?
Another important factor when selecting a eurograde 0 safe is the type of lock you require. A grade 0 safe has a high security EN1300 Class A lock. Making the choice of the lock type is more based upon the personal preference of the person using the safe on a regular basis.
if there are multiple users that require access to the safe on a regular basis then we would recommend the electronic lock. A key lock offers the same level of protection but just requires the key to be stored securely in a memorable place.
AiS Approved Safes - Eurograde Standard
Many of the Eurograde 0 safes that we offer are approved by AiS (Association of Insurance Surveyors) and they are one of the leading accreditation bodies within the UK. Many insurance companies might initially require a safe to be AiS approved before purchase.
All of the AiS Approved Safes at SimplySafes have the certification logo on the image of each product. Please contact us for further help or information if required.
Where to place your Eurograde 0 Safe?
It is vital to confirm on the location of the safe prior to purchasing the safe. As this could change the safes you have to select from based upon size and weight. It could be on the ground floor, upstairs, in a wardrobe, cupboard, etc.
Making measurements of the area you plan to position the safe in is important, as you need to be certain on the final placement of the safe prior to arriving on the delivery day.
