Today we review the Securikey Mini Vault.
The Product Review Team selected the extremely popular Mini Vault Safe fitted with an electronic lock from Securikey to conduct a full review including its pros and cons. The Mini Vault is a home / office safe for storing money and valuables and is certified to EN 14450 Class S2.
The mini vault range is an ideal security product for protecting cash and valuables in the home or workplace. The Mini Vault range benefits from a double walled construction which provides additional fire protection to DIN4102 and is available in both the electronic and key options. It has been tested and is certified to EN14450-S2, All the models include nice features such as adjustable shelves, a motion sensor interior LED light and felt lined walls.
The burglary protection level is at Class S2 (EN 14450), which offers a value storage of £4,000 for cash and £40,000 for valuables.

Ease of Use: The lock is extremely easy to operate and gives an acoustic sound and a green light with every keystroke. When you first receive the safe you just need to input 1,2,3,4,5 & 6 and turn the handle to open. It is as easy as that. The lock also warns of weak batteries. If you forget to replace it in time, a battery can always be connected to the outside of the safe. The handle moves smoothly, and the internal hinges make it easy to open providing good access to put your cash and valuables inside.
Safety: One of the strongest points of this safe is how robust it is, so providing an excellent level of security. The entire safe is of high quality combined with the European certification by ECB.S. this is one of the best safes in its class. Cash, Watches, jewelry, Passports, as well as important documents and photographs can be stored, inside the burglary and fire safe.
The addition of the DIN4102 fire protection provides peace of mind. The locks run smoothly and the two locking bolts on the door slide into the retaining cups located in the body of the safe providing a solid connection. The safe door has been made from 8mm thick steel, laser cut providing a stylish profile. Analyzing the component quality, all items have been manufactured to a high-level of quality.
Certification: The Mini Vaults certification is ideal for home and office use. Securikey has ensured the safe has the appropriate certification for its use and there has been no compromise, with the Mini Vault being certified by ECB.S. This means that the highest achievable certification has been selected.
The Mini Vault is burglary certified class Security Class S2 according to EN 14450 and fire-resistant to DIN4102. The S2 certification plate is riveted to the rear of the safe door. An insurance certificate can be found on page 7 of the manual.
Anchoring: The safe has anchoring holes to the base and back through which the safe can be attached to the floor or wall as preferred. The anchoring bolts are included with the safe and are packed inside the safe prior to delivery.
Quality: The safe has been powder coated in a practical, stylish grey colour, which looks great and is also scratch-resistant. The overall product quality is excellent from the safe body, components, handle, and the easy-to-use electronic lock. The interior is also stylish with a felt lining which will help protect jewelry from damage. The easy-to-read manual guides you through every step in simple terms.
Safe: Overall the Safe is totally, fit for purpose and of excellent quality so it is difficult to be critical. The range is quite limited, so more, larger sizes could be provided for people that require more storage. The handle can drop slightly from horizontal, but this is a more visible aspect and does not affect its performance.
Interior: The safe only has one adjustable shelf and has no optional interior solutions. For office and home use, a simple tray with compartments would be desirable. The LED interior light and felt finish are a nice feature but the base red colour lining may not be desirable for some people. It might have been better to have been completely grey lined
Many safes are either burglary or fire resistant at this level, but this safe provides both features which is an excellent feature. The overall quality is excellent, and the electronic lock is extremely easy to use. It is quite easy to access the battery. This safe provides enough insurance cover for many people for home or small office use. The construction is extremely robust, and it has a nice clean stylish grey finish.
The Product Review Team were impressed with the safe if this was the level of insurance cover you require for your cash and valuables. The next level of safes is the Grade 0, which provides higher levels of insurance cover but will cost more than the excellent Mini Vault by Securikey.
